Researcher for Extremism and Anti-Semitism Tracking Project At Washington, D.C.-Based Non-Profit Research Organization
Location: Washington, DC 20005
A Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit think tank/research organization is seeking a full-time researcher for its major ongoing project to monitor and analyze white supremacist/neo-Nazi and other hate groups’ content on various online platforms.
Responsibilities:
Applicant will be expected to conduct their own primary source research and prepare reports on racially and ethnically violently motivated violent extremism and anti-Semitism, including by white nationalist individuals and groups in the U.S. and abroad. A familiarity with this content on all relevant social media platforms is an absolute must. Also important are strong writing skills requiring minimal editing.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience as a researcher of white supremacist/neo-Nazi groups and individuals and their activities on the Internet/social media, in the U.S. and abroad, with a strong record of published research
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong teamwork skills and a deep motivation to make an impact on these issues
The position can require working unpredictable hours, including weekends, as the organization is closely tied to breaking news and current events.
This position is an in-office position, rather than remote or hybrid.
